Creating meaningful change
Our name is inspired by the abbreviation "for example". It is our purpose to work hard every day and provide real life examples of how we are creating change and leading by example.
We believe that people don't know a lot about our unique industry, so we have made it our mission to share our story and demonstrate how we are challenging the ordinary to create meaningful change.
Spacious Roaming Pastures.
We are leading by example with our unique farm layout. Our chicken sheds and ranges are laid out in such a way that increases the roaming space for each flock.
Other Free Range farms tend to have their sheds laid out row by row but we've gone for a sun shape which makes the ranges bigger! We are the first farm in New Zealand to implement this layout.
We think that's pretty cool!
Exclusively Free Range.
We are leading by example with only Free Range flocks that lay Free Range eggs. We have ZERO caged, ZERO colony, and ZERO barn hens.
Right from day 1 we have been an exclusively Free Range Farm. Every single hen on our farm is Free Range. Often other farms have different living conditions for different hens, that's why we are working hard every day to life the NZ Free Range standards and do better for hens everywhere.

Closed-Loop Farming Principles.
We are leading by example through closed-loop and regenerative farming methods. We want to protect the land for future generations to enjoy.
We use our hens manure to fertilise local maize and vegetable crops. Chicken manure is an excellent fertiliser, fostering plentiful plant growth!

Vibrant coloured yolks.
We are leading by example through always putting the chicken first!
Our hens lifestyle, which includes foraging for grass and insects, contributes to them laying perfect eggs with strong shells, thick whites, and vibrant-coloured yolks!
