Our chooks work hard to lay the most perfect eggs so we make sure to work hard every day to give them a free range life that exceeds the standards.

Shell

The shell is your first indicator of the life of the chook who laid it. An egg shell is mostly made up of calcium. A strong shell indicates the chook has a calcium rich diet. It also indicates a fresh egg and will do a better job at protecting the inside from any nasties.

Whites

A fresh egg has a thick white that holds firmly around the yolk. We work hard to get our eggs to customers as quickly as possible so they are super fresh! High albumen quality also reflects a healthy hen as if a hen is stressed it can impact the thickness of the whites too. With more space, our covered conservatory and play time on the range, our hens are stress free!

Yolk

The yolk of an egg is directly linked to a chooks diet - you are what you eat. We often get asked why are our eggs so bright? Our chooks eat a maize mash and when paired with regular foraging on grass and bugs, this is what creates those iconic eg. yolks, they're truly free range!
